About the Author

Nancy’s passion for reading began early when she crawled to the family bookshelf to claim her first books. This love for stories led her to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in English from BYU. As a wife, mother of six, and grandmother, she finds joy in storytelling, particularly in crafting parables that inspire and uplift young readers.

Recognizing a need for stories that explore morals and values, Nancy’s enchanting tales invite families to engage in meaningful discussions, transforming complex concepts into relatable lessons.

Faith, self-discovery, and hope are themes that she beautifully weaves into her narratives, encouraging young readers to explore their world with courage and positivity.

Why Dragonflies? Why a Broken Wing?

You may have noticed little dragonflies fluttering around this website, and if you look closely, you’ll see that one has a broken wing. You might wonder why I chose this symbol. The truth is, dragonflies have always held a special place in my heart. They are not only stunningly beautiful but also incredibly resilient creatures.

The imagery of a dragonfly with a broken wing resonates with me. Throughout my life, I’ve faced numerous hurdles, from accidents to surgeries that left me feeling broken—physically and emotionally. I’ve had to navigate life in a wheelchair, crutches, with a cane, and even in body braces. Yet, despite these challenges, I refuse to see myself as broken.

Instead, I choose to embody the strength represented by this delicate yet powerful insect. Words that I feel best capture this resilience are Courageous, Empowered, and Valiant. These words serve as a reminder that anyone, regardless of their circumstances, has the power to rise above their challenges and rewrite their story.

Through my tales, I aspire to share this message with readers of all ages: that even when life leaves us feeling broken, we all dare to soar, the empowerment to reclaim our lives, and the valiance to face each day with hope and determination.

I hope the dragonfly will inspire you to embrace your journey—finding strength in your struggles and beauty in your resilience!
